Aphelion Affinity is a blend of McLaren Vale Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz from various sites throughout the region. Each vineyard parcel is handled separately in the winery.

The Grenache ferments as whole bunches and whole berries. The Mataro sees some whole bunch inclusion with pre-ferment cold soaking. Some of the Shiraz undergoes extended post-ferment maceration.

Following fermentation, the wine matures for nine months in neutral French hogsheads. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Dark cherry red, Aphelion Affinity is spicy and complex with savoury, powdery tannins. The Grenache component provides freshness. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
